Hobbyist Friendly Reference Labs for KHV (And Other) Testing

Hobbyist-Friendly Diagnostic Laboratories

I don’t have first-hand experience with these laboratories having sent samples to University of Georgia for decades. Each of these laboratories have very specific conditions for who sends samples, when and what you send. Read up on them carefully and by all means contact them before you get really serious about sending samples. I don’t know what expense you incur. They don’t know me ‘from Adam’.

Vicki Vaughan, Athens , Georgia (Samples are processed at University of Georgia D-lab.) Please call or text: 706 247 0034 – v.vaughan@ugavet.com

I commonly get the question, “What samples should I send, and how should I send them?” This is a good question because each of the labs has a different tissue or fluid for each different type of test. Sometimes it has to do with if the fish is alive or dead, exposed or infected, etc. So reaching out to any lab of your choice is the thing you have to do.
